I’ve been looking forward to today’s post. ;-)

We rounded yet another bend on the Yukon River and bumped into yet another bear. Canoes really are the best way to see wildlife on the river. And, once again, we were all but silent.

I took lots of photos, but I remembered to look at the bear with my eyes, too, not just through the viewfinder. Jane was, as usual, the closest.

But what I really like is that I submitted the photo below to a Yukon tourism competition and won a gorgeous coffee table photo book of the Yukon. I don’t win many things, so this was particularly satisfying.

And, speaking of ‘winning’ … more Greenlandic!
