Daily photo from Greenland
It’s quite possible the pilot knew I was taking this photo. Quite possible indeed. ;-)
I used to be a climbing instructor, canoe guide - all kinds of outdoor instructor, really - so I am not unfamiliar with the cool photo opportunities certain jobs can provide. Greenland attracts all kinds, and with such dramatic backdrops, it’s not hard to take cool photos of people.
So, we’ll give this guy his moment, and he should know that I thought it was pretty cool of him to pose on the top of his machine like that.
A few minutes later, and we were flying home, across the fjord, to Uummannaq Island.
The chopper pilots were great. If they spotted a whale, they would circle around so we could all see it. ;-)
The Flyer
And, speaking of ‘cool jobs’, Thomas Helliker is in action in chapter 6 of The Flyer.
Is that a giant croissant I can see through the chopper window?? Air Greenland must serve great in-flight snacks!! 😁
