Daily photo from Greenland
May is the month of melting in the sledge dog districts of Greenland, and while it can be a little smelly around the dog yards, you can easily escape to higher ground.
Ice and rock and plenty of it is really what Greenland is all about. I was always impressed by the hardy grasses, gutting out every winter to turn green(ish) in the spring.
Wandering on ‘the’ mountain on Uummannaq Island was always an adventure, and in May, when the thaw caught out the ptarmigan, they were easy to spot in their winter plumage.
Note to self … so easy I never got a photo of them! ;-)
And here’s a free short story!
