Daily photo from Greenland
I like this one. It feels like the island is listing to one side. Why the houses don’t tumble into the sea, or the cars roll down the hill to the water, or the dogs fly like kites tethered by the collar to their chains I don’t know.
Sometimes, when cabin fever hits, you feel like you want to get off.
But there is no stepping off the island. It’s just not that simple.
Fortunately, when such a feeling takes hold, there’s always someone pushing from the other side, or like a bunch of strapping fellas lifting one side of a coupe so the older fella whose car just got a puncture can change the flat, there’s always someone to help.
Sometimes, when fortune or fate takes a hand, you, too, can be that person, lifting from the side, smiling, suggesting that it’s no sweat, even though you might be sweating. Or that, really, you’ve got the time, even when you know you have to pick up groceries, or the kids from school, or catch that dental appointment that will otherwise cost you if you don’t turn up.
Yep, it’s nice to lift from the other end every once in a while.
Not sure why I said that, wrote that, or even thought that. But I guess it’s the tipping point. It’s good to give back.
I feel good about giving back.
And last week, fate stepped in and I felt fortunate to do so.
All that from a tipping photo. ;-)
Have a great Sunday, everyone!
And… The Flyer
Here’s chapter four!
I love what you wrote. Petra is one who does the heavy lifting for me.
The black line of strata in the mountain behind- did you ever find out it's geology?
A bit mysterious . . but I'm glad fate stepped in and all is well! 😊
